The BlacBerry Storm2 features a 3.25 inch touchscreen display with a built in accelerometer and capable of displaying up to 65k colours. The Storm 2 uses a capacitive touchscreen for a more user friendly experience and also features the BlackBerry Storm SurePress technology which provides feedback to your interaction with the screen.
BlackBerry Messenger!
BlackBerry Messenger provides BlackBerry users with the familiar look and feel of desktop instant messaging programs only this time you can take it with you wherever you go. BlackBerry Messenger lets you send messages to friends, supports group chat and notifies you when they have read the message and even when they are composing a reply. And as BlackBerry Messenger uses data, it wont put a dent in your SMS text allowance!
BlackBerry Media Sync!
The BlackBerry 9520 Storm2 Smartphone syncs with iTunes and Windows Media Player so you can transfer your music files to your phone. Want a specific playlist for the gym? With just a few simple taps you can choose the playlists you want from your collection. And, to make sure you've always got enough free memory, BlackBerry Media Sync lets you set a limit as to how much of your music to sync.
BlackBerry App World!
Download Blackberry OS Apps to your Storm 2 from the Blackberry App World application store. Enhance your phone with new apps including games, news feeds, social networking apps and much more. With BlackBerry OS and App World, the possibilities are endless.
Instant Email
With instant email access on the Blackberry 9520 you can keep up to date with all your important messages even when you are away from your PC. Once you've followed the simple set up procedure you will be able to access your email on your mobile phone as easily as you do in the office or at home
Do it wirelessly
Stay connected to the things that matter to you thanks to the Blackberry Storm2's Wi-Fi. Wirelessly back up and copy your media to your PC, WiFi also means SPEED. The Blackberry Storm2 empowers you to access the Internet at high speed. With Wi-Fi you can use your phone to connect to a local wireless network (W-LAN) to connect to the internet. This offers a cheap (sometimes free) method of connecting to the net.
Super fast HSDPA and 3G!
Do you have a need for speed? Well with the Storm2 you will be able to enjoy data speeds at an amazing 7.2Mbps with this new HSDPA technology. You can download music, games, and video clips at the touch of a button at amazingly fast speeds!
Built-in GPS Receiver
The Blackberry Storm2 features a built-in GPS receiver. GPS stands for Global Positioning System. More than two dozen GPS satellites orbit the Earth and transmit radio signals which allow any GPS receiver near the planet to determine its location, speed and direction. This is perfect for car satellite navigation!
Bluetooth 2.0
Bluetooth 2.0 is the next generation of Bluetooth connectivity. With Bluetooth 2.0 one of the biggest advantages is the possibility of listening to music with a compatible wireless headset in stereo. Less wires, less mess, more noise.
Music Player
With a built in music player, you can carry your tunes with you, in your pocket, and listen to them when you want. Most digital formats are recognised on the phone, including MP3 and AAC.
Java
Java is often a forgotten feature on many phones, and is probably used in many ways without you even realising. If you play games on your phone, it is likely they are java apps. But java is so much more than games. It allows you to add extra functionality to your handset by installing third party apps to the phone. Add email functionality with Gmail, add a web browser from Opera Mini, add a business directory with Yell.com or keep an eye on a new purchase on Ebay.
Built in Hands Free
For the moments when you want to take that call but your hands are busy doing something else, the built in hands free option on the Blackberry Storm2 comes into its own. Also can turn the handset into a makeshift conference phone
Expandable Memory
With phones offering so much these days, memory is a premium. Very often on board memory is very low, so an option to add extra memory with the addition of a memory card is invaluable. If you are using your phone as a media player, expandable memory allows you to add songs, store videos and keep photos, and take them with you, all located on your phone
The BlackBerry (R) Storm2 (TM) features an impressive 3.5 inch touchscreen that looks bright and vivid and is also a joy to use thanks to SurePress technology which confirms on screen actions with a physical click feedback. The 9520 Storm2 adds Wi-Fi to its predecessors HSDPA connectivity ensuring the Storm2 is the fastest BlackBerry yet for web browsing. Enhance your Storm 2 with Apps from BlackBerry App World, capture the moment with the 3.15 Megapixel camera, sync with iTunes and store your music, movies and photos on the 2GB of on board memory or add a memory card for even more storage.
ML - London-11/06/2010 This is fantastic. Got one of these over the easter break and don't regret it one bit. You hear a lot of bad things about the screen on this phone, but I think it it is amazing, and I am never going to go back to a standard touch screen.....However, the screen sometimes get stuck or becomes to loose and this can get very annoying. the camera is good, and the majority of of the features work well, except the Bluetooth. This phone is great for messaging, but the phone is not the most helpful. This is down to the fact that it doesn't go very loud(the speaker) and it like to make its own mind up on which way the screen is orientated so you press one button, then it decides to move that button and it ends up with you pressing the wrong thing, sometimes hanging up, which is not very good for those important business phone calls. APART FROM THOSE FEW LITTLE GLITCHES, WHICH YOU DO GET USED TO, THIS IS A VERY GOOD PHONE,only topped for me by the HTC hd2 which is out of my price range.
JM - East Riding, Yorkshire-09/04/2010 My colleagues have been raving about Blackberry phones for ages. I thought I would give one a go and I can't believe what a great choice I made in getting the Storm 2. People usually expect Blackberry phones to be massive bricks, but this one is slim and not at all what I was expecting in that respect. The features are amazing. If you give another Blackberry user your phone "pin", they can add you to their Blackberry messenger. Its like MSN messenger but doesn't cost you a thing. You can chat with your family and friends all across the world on it for free and without being connected to the net on it!! Also if you have been put off getting a touch screen phone but feel that you have no choice but to keep up with the latest trends, this phone won't let you down either. When you press the touchscreen, it not only clicks but you can feel the click as if you are pressing an actual button. I can't really do the touchscreen justice in words, it is totally amazing and very accurate. Also the phone is great for e-mails and social networking apps. I have Facebook on mine and whenever someone sends you a message on Facebook, it alerts you on your phone. The same goes for e-mails, once you have set up your e-mail account on your phone, whenever someone sends you an e-mail, hey presto, you get alerted on your phone. You don't have to log on to anything and retrieve your e-mail and messages manually, it all comes to you straight away on your phone. I don't know the tech details but it's like your phone is always connected to the internet, when it actually isn't. It's a fantastic piece of kit and I am totally made up with all the features and ease of use. My old phone is only a year old, but compared to this phone its an old has been relic. Very happy indeed :P
JW - Southampton-18/01/2010 "Had the Storm 2 9750 for about two months now. Great phone with lots of features. I find the SurePress touchscreen technology an excellent feature for those who like feedback when texting, which of course is one of the main reasons I got this phone. The SurePress technology gives the user a keyboard feel when texting, but on a touchscreen. The battery life is great although if you use the phone extensively, i.e GPS and Camera. Then is will need daily charging. The internet is fast, but only in areas of 3G reception, which is brilliant most of the time. The phone looks great, and overall would recommend it to anyone, who would like an easy transition from qwerty button phones to a touchscreen phone.
RT - Hatfield-19/11/2009 I'd heard mixed reviews about the BlackBerry Storm2 but after having mine for just over a week I can't put it down! The touchscreen on the Storm2 is truly one of a kind. If you touch lightly on it you can use it to scroll through menus and up and down on web pages and then push a bit harder and the screen actually clicks in. It takes a little getting used to but I'm a total convert now, I wouldn't go back to a normal screen. Typing on it is easy and it gives great feedback because it feels like you're actually clicking a keyboard. Plus the Storm2 has tonnes of features, you can download apps, use instant messenger and loads more.
