JR - Cardiff-16/02/2010  Having had a fortnight to get used to my HTC Hero, I'm ready to give my two cents on it. Well, what can I say? Overall, this is a top notch phone, and, if like me, you're wondering whether to get an HTC Hero or an iPhone, you won't be disappointed with the Hero. Why pay £35 or more for an iPhone every month when you can have a Hero, which is cheaper and just as good, if not better. The Hero ticks every box; slick design, easy to use, great (and I mean GREAT) app store and awesome customisation features. Indeed, the thing that impressed me most was the ease of use and how you can really put your own mark on the phone with different designs, widgets, short cuts etc. The only downside is the battery life. I won't lie... it is really poor. Saying that, there are loads of tips on the web that can help you to conserve battery power. Don't let this put you off buying what is otherwise a top notch bit of kit.

BB - Glasgow-26/11/2009  Just received my HTC Hero from mobiles.co.uk after a 2 week wait - and it was worth it! Nice solid feeling handset, with a more traditional way of getting the back cover off & inserting the sim/battery - a refreshing change after fiddling with an iPhone! A quick browse through the get started guide & I was off - easily set up email & social networking within minutes and imported all my sim contacts over. Soon after, I moved over some mp3s and pics to customize my handset - a small drawback is you can't simply choose a song as your ring tone - BUT - you get a FREE app called ringdroid from the marketplace and lo & behold - it not only lets you use an mp3 as a ring tone or notification noise, it lets you CROP the tune as well! Brilliant! Only been using the phone for a day, but very pleased thus far - give me an 8Gb sd card & this will easily beat my iPhone in a square go. Touch screen is just as responsive as Apple and the widget set ups are very cool. No wonder the handset was out of stock for so long!!

SB - Scotland-18/11/2009  This phone is absolutely fantastic. It took me a long time to decide whether to go for this or that iPhone and I am so glad I choose this above the iPhone! As other people have said there are so many great FREE applications, so many great things about the phone but to many to list. Get yours now I promise you won't be disappointed.

QE - England-13/11/2009  This phone runs on Android OS which is an amazing OS, rich with features and apps to be downloaded from the Android market with a great UI. The phones build quality is great and very functional. The screen is bright clear and responsive to touch. All in all, a great phone and I recommend getting it from mobiles.co.uk!

JM - Scotland-23/10/2009  After doing much research between the iPhone 3GS and the HTC Hero I decided to go for the Hero. I'm glad I did as it can do several things over and above the iPhone, also the market place which is equivalent to the app store is full of useful FREE apps. It's quite hard to find an app that you need to pay for in there LOL, the seven home screens are also very handy and can be customised until your heart's content! These handsets are also shipping with the latest ROMs which has sped up the phone quite a bit, user interface is quite complex but nothing that a few days fiddling can't sort out :). Only thing I would say is that if you do get a graphite one then you absolutely must buy the screen protectors! Oh and also the phone can take anything up to 32GB SD cards but I would recommend getting a class 6 card as this can handle the data quicker making for a smoother running of the apps etc.

ME - Edinburgh-22/10/2009  Fantastic phone. Very easy to use, touch screen is very good and responsive, light and compact. Everything works as it should. There are reviews on the internet that this phone is slightly underpowered (configuration wise) for Android, but this isn't a big deal at all when you start using it, although occasionally you can sense a bit of lag on the screen flow when too many apps are running back-ground. But I would be happy to have this phone rather than one with high performance processor/memory but very poor battery life. The only problem I face is the placement of the back button, as it is very tricky to use in single hand (right handed if you are, left hand should be OK), as your thumb hardly reaches it. If it has been placed on the other side of the tracker ball, it would have been great!

BR - London-25/09/2009  WOW. I-Phone - NO THANKS. The latest addition to HTC's product range has to be their best yet. Where do we start, Touch flo screen with customisable user interface, Android system including Google Marketplace where you can download all the latest app's (a lot of them free including Sat-Nav), Built in GPS, Compass, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, camera and so much more, regular updates from Google and the added benefit that if you're computer minded you can use the phone as a developer tool to develop your own applications and widgets to sell on the market. Battery life can be a little restricted, however downloading Advanced Task Killer (free) will allow you to cancel any running apps in the background that you don't want at the push of a button. So if you want the latest phone that performs better than the I-Phone, doesn't blow up like Apple phones are now known to do and comes unbranded with the best deals available on the internet, then just click on a deal and you'll get your phone usually the next day.

Rob - London-24/09/2009  Ordered from mobiles.co.uk. Delivery was quick and the phone was unlocked and had no branding. The Android OS combined with Sense UI gives a very good result. I also recommend updating to the newest ROM before personalising the phone to avoid wasting time. It makes the phone less sluggish. With the new ROM it is acceptable fast, although not in the same league as the iPhone. Then again, the iPhone doesn't multi-task and run multiple applications at the same time.

IM - London-21/09/2009  Upgraded from LG Viewty to Hero and the gulf in class is just phenomenal! The Hero is quick, customisable, easy to use, and intuitive. The camera's not great, but then I didn't buy it to replace my digital camera... Also as the handset provided by mobiles.co.uk was unlocked and unbranded I was able to quickly and easily upgrade to the latest ROM from the HTC website.

AN - Manchester-24/08/2009  HTC has unleashed such a phone... which has revolutionary Android OS v1.5 and extraordinary elegant angelic look. With CPU 588MHZ, you have enough processing power to do any task for mobile computing; moreover along Android OS you can dare the future computing at your fingertips because unlikely iphone n nokia symbians.. here you can update your OS every time Google team would come up with new avant-garde and innovative development. Its simply an outstanding addition in mobiles world and definitely going to change the way people use their mobiles
