8 Megapixel Camera
With a built in 8.1 megapixel camera with auto focus, face detection and a powerful flash, the Sony Ericsson Aino takes quality pictures that you will want to share with your friends. Store them in your phone, email them to friends or upload them to your blog. The Aino also utilises the touchscreen to great effect offering touch focus which lets you seect certain areas to focus on in the viewfinder simply by touching them on the display.
Touchscreen
The Sony Ericsson Aino features a 3.0 TFT display with a touchscreen user interface! Whether you're browsing the media menu, adjusting the camera settings or playing your music, the touch user interface makes navigation truly intuitive. What's more, capable of displaying up to 16M colours in WQVGA resolution, everything looks great on the Aino!
Remote play with Playstation 3
Control your Playstation 3 and access its media content on your Aino anywhere, anytime using Remote Play. Remote Play with Playstation 3, initially developed for PSP, enables users to control and access media content on PS3 from their phone. This can be done via a local network between PS3 and Aino in your home or via the internet from anywhere in the world. For TV lovers in the UK users can also enjoy the PlayTV service on Playstation 3 via the Aino. Watch, pause and record live TV from a huge range of free channels via Aino on the go.
N.B - Remote Play not available to BT Home Hub users.
Music Master!
The Sony Ericsson Aino was built for music. Supporting a host of file formats including AAC and MP3 and with a range of Sony Ericsson favourites including TrackID, the Aino is a music phone to be reckoned with. The Aino supports Media Go which lets you transfer, play and organise all your music, photos, videos and podcasts from your PC simply and effortlessly to enjoy directly on Aino via Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi
With Wi-Fi you can use your phone to connect to a local wireless network (W-LAN) to connect to the internet. This offers a cheap (sometimes free) method of connecting to the net to download emails, files, or check on your favourite website.
HSDPA
HSDPA offers a similar benefit to a 3G network that GPRS offered to the GSM networks. It offers a higher speed data transfer with a compatible handset such as the Sony Ericsson Aino on Orange. HSDPA is commonly known as Mobile Broadband.
GPS
With built in GPS you can use the Aino to locate your position, plan your journey, and as a general SatNav device, when used in conjunction with compatible mapping software. You can also Geo-tag photos taken on the Aino's camera so you can tell friends where you got that Kodak moment.
A-GPS
A-GPS on the Sony Aino is a network service that can locate your position to within 100 metres by using a clever technique called triangulation. By sending a signal to three cell masts, A-GPS will work out your location by the location of the cells and your distance from them.
Web Browser
With a built in Web Browser you can access internet sites directly from your handset. Check the latest scores, look up train times, get a weather report, or find the answer to the question in the pub quiz. The Aino also offers full support for YouTube for hous of entertainment. With the inbuilt web browser you have the power of the internet with you, wherever you are.
Bluetooth 2.0
Bluetooth 2.0 is the next generation of Bluetooth connectivity. With Bluetooth 2.0 one of the biggest advantages is the possibility of listening to music with a compatible wireless headset in stereo. Less wires, less mess, more noise.
Java
Java is often a forgotten feature on many phones, and is probably used in many ways without you even realising. If you play games on your phone, it's likely they are java apps. But java is so much more than games. It allows you to add extra functionality to your handset by installing third party apps to the phone. Add email functionality with Gmail, add a web browser from Opera Mini, add a business directory with Yell.com or keep an eye on a new purchase on Ebay.
The Sony Ericsson Aino is a slide phone with a touchscreen for touch navigation in the multimedia menu. The Aino features an 8.1 Megapixel camera loaded with extras such as face detection, red-eye reduction and autofocus, plus the new Touch focus feature which utilises the touchscreen and lets you touch areas on the display for the camera to focus. Bundled with high quality Bluetooth headphones and a docking station, the Aino is great for watching movies and listening to music and with expandable memory, there's ample room for all your files.

DI - Glasgow-24/11/2009 I purchased the Aino over a week ago from mobiles.co.uk & couldn't be happier, this phone is definately the best phone for me on the market. I used to own the Samsung tocco but found that having only a touch screen can be a bit of a pain at times so hence the reason I chose the Aino & not the Satio. The finish on this phone is second to none every little detail is well thought out & the slide function is very smooth and secure. My initial feeling when I first got the phone was it felt fairly heavy but in a way that reassures me of it's quality. Best part about the phone is the media player I think Sony really had this feature in mind while making this phone. Audio is excellent on both music and video the wireless earphones are a nice addition so to the angled docking station/charger. Converting media to the phone is very simple you get everything built into the phone so once you plug the usb into your computer it installs all the required drivers/applications. With regards to the 8.1mp camera really nice with all the usual features but I was a bit disappointed that the lens didn't have a slide cover but I think Sony maybe thought this would have compromised on the sleek look. All in all this phone is great & I would defiantly recommend for anyone that loves to use there phone for more than just calling & taking pictures.
