QWERTY Keypad
With a QWERTY keypad on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, writing a message on a phone keypad has never been easier. Within minutes you can type out a full email, send a text message to friends or communicate via Instant Messaging.
Wi-Fi
With Wi-Fi you can use your phone to connect to a local wireless network (W-LAN) to connect to the internet. This offers a cheap (sometimes free) method of connecting to the net to download emails, files, or check on your favourite website.
HSDPA
HSDPA offers a similar benefit to a 3G network that GPRS offered to the GSM networks. It offers a higher speed data transfer with a compatible handset such as the Sony Ericsson X1 on O2. HSDPA is commonly known as Mobile Broadband.
Bluetooth 2.0
Bluetooth 2.0 is the next generation of Bluetooth connectivity. With Bluetooth 2.0 one of the biggest advantages is the possibility of listening to music with a compatible wireless headset in stereo. Less wires, less mess, more noise.
A-GPS
A-GPS on the Sony Experia is a network service that can locate your position to within 100 metres by using a clever technique called triangulation. By sending a signal to three cell masts, A-GPS will work out your location by the location of the cells and your distance from them.
3.2 Megapixel Camera
With a built in 3.2 megapixel camera, with auto focus, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 takes quality pictures that you will want to share with your friends. Store them in your phone, email them to friends or upload them to your blog.
Java
Java is often a forgotten feature on many phones, and is probably used in many ways without you even realising. If you play games on your phone, it’s likely they are java apps. But java is so much more than games. It allows you to add extra functionality to your handset by installing third party apps to the phone. Add email functionality with Gmail, add a web browser from Opera Mini, add a business directory with Yell.com or keep an eye on a new purchase on Ebay.
Music Player
With a built in music player, you can carry your tunes with you, in your pocket, and listen to them when you want. Most digital formats are recognised on the Ericsson X1 phone, including MP3 and AAC.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is a new style communicator mobile phone from Sony Ericsson. The Xperia X1 is designed to let you enjoy the convergence of communication and entertainment. You can choose an experience by simply touching the XPERIA panel interface. The QWERTY keyboard makes writing fast and easy and with Windows Mobile inside, you can enjoy your favourite entertainment and work efficiently on the move. The Sony Ericsson X1 is a premium mobile experience with an arc slider design, 3 inch Wide VGA display and premium metal body.
FG - Hastings-15/04/2009 If you need a portable office in a phone then this is the one to think about. Looks stunning, made with high quality materials and is packed with features. Operates on the latest version of Windows Mobile software. Has a sexy side slide QWERTY board. Fairly easy to navigate through the features, but ironically texting and call making is a little too fiddly, also the phone is rather heavy, a down side of the very high quality materials. Overall tho a superb stylish pocket office for the business user.

MG - GB-09/12/2008 Great phone, good touch screen, quick navigation, easy to add applications to. Hold a charge reasonably well so far, but I'll need to try and stop leaving things running to conserve battery when away on trips. Good hand writing recognition too.
SS - GB-08/12/2008 The X1 is great, the screen quality is fantastic, the camera may only be 3.2megapixels but its still great for capturing photos and videos. Having WM6.1 is great as you can install huge number of apps from the internet and the new opera browser featured is good. The panel interface is quite responsive and the qwerty keyboard is great for texting and internet browsing.. Also, quite pleased with mobiles.co.uk as purchasing the phone was smooth, quick and easy and the phone was delivered within one day - cheers!
GH - GB-08/12/2008 Great design, love the slide out keyboard and the Panels are great. Media player is very usable. A good all-round experience, Recommended 8/10
EB - Herts-02/12/2008 Amazing phone. Be prepared to spend a bit of time getting to find your way around the handset - it takes a bit of getting used to and switching between screens can be slow. The panels it comes aren't bad, but the download of the SBP panel from the SE website is better than the built in ones. cool phone, internet photo and video capability are well worth it.
LP - London-01/12/2008 Very impressed with Xperia x1, easy to use, well put together with a feeling of toughness. The battery life is good, around 3-4 days in normal use. The camera is great with good quality pictures. Excellent feature is built in stylus and slide out keyboard. highly recommended.
PD - GB-01/12/2008 A stylish phone but still getting used to all its functions as I found it quite fiddly at first. Takes great pictures, internet is fast. My texting is getting better as I get used to the keyboard. Thanks Mobiles.co.uk
AL - London-27/11/2008 The xperia x1 has solid build quality. It benefits from both a touch screen and full qwerty keyboard. I love the built in aGPS and wifi. A true communications device with both pull and push email capabilities. Only downside is the windows mobile platform may not suit all users. Thanks
