The Alcatel OT 980 runs on the Android operating system, developed in part by Google. Downloadable applications from the Android Market, full customisation and support for Google sevices such as Google Maps, G-Mail and Google Search are all Possible with Android.

Touchscreen

The OT980 features a 2.8 inch touchscreen display providing sharp images and natural colours. Use your fingers to navigate through menus; once you've used a touchscreen phone you'll never look back! The OT 980 even has a built in accelerometer which automatically rotates the screen to match how the phone is held.

QWERTY Keyboard

The Alcatel Android phone features a slide out QWERTY keyboard that enhances the user experience and aids web browsing and messaging. Firing off emails, texts and instant messaging is fast and effective whilst the keyboard remains tucked away when not in use.

A-GPS

A-GPS on the Alcatel OT 980 is a network service that can locate your position to within 100 metres by using a clever technique called triangulation. By sending a signal to three cell masts, A-GPS will work out your location by the location of the cells and your distance from them.

Social Network-savvy

The Alcatel OT 980 features a built in mobile web browser and shortcuts to Facebook and Twitter offering you a complete social networking experience.

Web Browser

GPRS is a packet data service that allows you to browse the internet and send emails at faster speeds then you will achieve on a standard dial up connection. GPRS is charged by the amount of data sent in a session, rather than the length of time of connection.

With the Alcatel OT 980 you can take a picture of where you are, record or write a greeting and send to any MMS-capable phone or email address. Send pictures, text and sound.
