Five Of The Fastest Charging Phones
A lot of us use our phones throughout the day, so battery life is an essential part of any new smartphone we buy. Battery capacity is just one side of the coin though; how fast the phone recharges is the other.
To help you find the fastest charging phones, we have created a guide looking at which devices across iPhone, Samsung and other ranges recharge in the quickest time.
Fastest charging iPhone – iPhone 14
When it comes to Apple’s powerful flagship phones, the iPhone 14 range is king. With a maximum charge speed of 20W, the iPhone 14 can recharge to 50% in around 30 minutes, aided by the aptly-named Lightning Charging port. This length of time increases as the battery capacity does, so you will see slightly longer recharge times on the iPhone 14 Plus, Pro and Pro Max models.
Whilst these charging speeds don’t break any new ground, they are exceptional given how powerful, and therefore demanding, the iPhone 14 is. This is even more impressive on the Pro Max, which can be particularly battery life hungry due to its additional features, such as the Dynamic Island.
Fastest charging Samsung phone – Galaxy S23 Plus
The Galaxy series from Samsung has consistently offered a balance between good charging speeds and value. Rather than including an extremely fast but expensive battery, Galaxy phones have found a middle ground that doesn’t break the bank.
This continues with the excellent Galaxy S23 Plus, the middle phone in the S23 range. Both the Plus and Ultra models support 45W fast charging, compared to the base S23’s 25W, but we chose the Plus as the fastest charging Samsung phone because of how it achieves the balance between speed and value we mentioned previously.
With the Plus and Ultra sharing the same charging speeds, the Plus model gets the nod thanks to its lower price and slightly smaller 4700mAh battery capacity. It can recharge from 0% to 50% in a faster time than the Ultra, due to the larger battery capacity the Ultra needs to fill.
Other fast charging phones
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra
Battery life on the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is extremely impressive and surpasses much of the competition. This is in large part due to the 125W charger that comes in the box, which can recharge the Edge 30 Ultra to 50% in approximately 9 minutes: a fantastic result.
The Edge 30 Ultra’s battery capacity is also sizeable at 4610mAh, so not only will it recharge very quickly, it’ll require fewer charging sessions across the day.
Xiaomi 12T Pro
The Xiaomi 12T Pro is another great fast charging phone. It comes equipped with a 5000mAh battery, which lasts around 16 hours when streaming videos and playing games.
When it’s time to recharge, the 12T Pro pulls no punches. The 120W charger provided with the phone can recharge from 0% to 100% in just over 20 minutes, meaning downtime on the 12T Pro is extremely small. If you use your phone regularly and often feel like you quickly burn through the battery life, the Xiaomi 12T Pro should be near the top of your list.
Oppo Find X5 Pro
Oppo phones pack a lot of firepower when it comes to performance, and so fast charging speeds are vital for keeping them powered up. With this in mind, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is a gem in the smartphone market, possessing a battery that has a large capacity and can be recharged quickly.
Both wired and wireless charging on the Find X5 Pro are superb, giving you fast charge options regardless of your situation. When plugged in, this phone can recharge with a speed of 80W and reach 50% in about 12 minutes, so you don’t have to charge it overnight to start using it again from a full battery. Wireless charging on the Find X5 Pro also supports 50W speeds on a charging pad that is capable of this, which is exceptional if you are consistently travelling.
The Oppo Find X5 Pro is a mighty phone when it comes to charging. Whether you are at home or on-the-move, its huge 5000mAh battery will keep you gaming, streaming and browsing online.
