The first ever BlackBerry dual-lens camera makes an appearance on the BlackBerry KEY2. At 12MP, you can guarantee fantastic shots even in difficult conditions and that extra lens means achieving a blurred background effect (known to the pros as bokeh is possible with one tap using Portrait Mode. There’s optical superzoom too, if you fancy getting closer to the action. Need to take a video? You can, in ultra-defined 4K.
As for the front-facing camera, it comes in at a generous 8MP. That's plenty of megapixels to take a defined shot with your mates, and thanks to Selfie Flash you'll always be able to capture your best side no matter where you are.
BlackBerry KEY2 Power
No longer running the BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry handsets are now powered by Android. You’ll find the latest operating system, Android Oreo 8.1, already installed on the BlackBerry KEY2, which runs smoothly thanks to the whopping 6GB RAM and speedy octa-core processor.
Under the hood you’ll also find 64GB of storage space. Not sure if that’s enough? Whether you love shooting videos in 4K or simply can’t stop taking photos, you’ll be able to expand up to a maximum of 256GB with a MicroSD card. As for the battery, BlackBerry promises up to 2 days of power from a single charge of the 3,500 mAh non-removable battery, and you can take advantage of the fast-charge feature which offers 50% power in just 36 minutes.
BlackBerry KEY2 Features
Powered by Android, you'll find a bunch of great apps pre-loaded on the BlackBerry KEY2. Alongside the Google Play store, you'll have instant access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Maps and so much more.
Of course, that's not to say BlackBerry's iconic software has been removed. The BlackBerry Hub will be your one-stop shop for messages, integrating notifications from your favourite services like Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter in one place. BBM resides here too, and two of its most popular features (Timer and Retract) are now free for all users. Want to set a time limit on how long a message can be read for? Use Timer. Prefer to remove a message completely? Retract can wipe it from the thread for you.
