With season seven of hit fantasy series, Game of Thrones, due to premiere on TV, laptop, tablet and smartphone screens on 16 July, we have been looking at its amassed following so far, and reminding ourselves of some of the key plotlines.

Since season one, we discovered that the number of people tuning into the hit show has grown by a staggering 5.9 million (or 197%) – that’s more new viewers than the population of Singapore (5.6 million).

It seems that the mega-bucks production budget (an estimated $360 million has been spent) has gone from strength to strength. In fact, the season six opener was reported to be Sky’s most-watched entertainment programme of all time – with 4.8 million viewers in the UK alone[1].

In anticipation of the new season, we've reimagined key plotlines from the last season to get us in the mood. Being unabashed techaholics, we decided to take a look at how events may have played out if the inhabitants of Westeros got their hands on smartphones.
