It is my first iPhone and it took me a long time as the price usually is a turn off and I am an avid Samsung user.
After so many years of using the same middle class Samsung phone, which still was more than enough technology in my hands (I didn't need a new phone actually), I was looking for a newer device which is 5G capable. As all my work is done on a Mac and I have many friends which are combining their iPhones with their Mac, I was doing some research about the iPhone 12 and it seems it was the right (i)phone for my current needs.
Anyways long story short, ordered the phone on a Saturday and it arrived on Sunday morning, so big up to mobiles.co.uk to arrange such a great service.
No about the phone, like with all Apple devices (I am using laptops, desktops for years now), it feels premium and is premium. The interface is easy to understand and if you are familiar with other apple products, even on a actually Mac, you will understand the gui and functions easily as with ios14 everything is the same experience on all devices now. I mean thats what is Steve jobs legacy always heading towards, that Mac is a whole widget itself, especially now with the M1X chips coming out soon. (Oh god, which means I have to satisfy my consumer greed on one of those new upcoming products, damn you apple....XD)
I like the style, the feel, the quality, the speed, to speak with Siri, even though she gets confused by what I am asking her most of the time. The camera is superb and being able to do 4k 60fps videos, which I thought was just possible with the pro version, is a game changer.
Only downside is the battery, even though I am a Mac geek and set everything up in a way that the iPhone saves as much battery as possible, it lasts maybe 70% of the day, compared to my Samsung which lasted 2 days without struggles and I am a heavy user.
I just bought it, as it is a cheap option with the vodafone contract I have found. No matter if I can afford it or not, I wouldn't have bought it for the full price, as I would say the battery is one of the most important factors and the iPhone in general always lacks behind with the quality.
Anyways, like many reviews are saying it as well, whoever wants an iPhone or longterm, especially 5G ready, thats your iPhone of choice. I got it in red as I like the look, plus knowing some money goes towards the fight against COVID, in the end it is a good feeling.
