Everything you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy S7

Product Information

What makes the Galaxy S7 great?

Experience the best Samsung Galaxy yet. With its streamlined design, best-in-class camera and high-spec hardware, it's a powerful all-rounder with something for everybody to love.

Samsung Galaxy S7

On the surface it may look similar to the S6, but once you've got it in your hands you'll start feeling the difference. Though it packs the same 5.1-inch display and premium glass-and-metal finish as the S6, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is subtly sleeker, and ergonomically designed to offer the series' most comfortable grip yet. Despite its size, operating one-handed is a breeze – while IP68-rated dust and water resistance help keep it safe from any mishaps.

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs Galaxy S7

Just as you’d expect from one of the world’s biggest and best smartphone manufacturers, the S7 takes all that was great and good in the S6 before giving it an added sheen. One of the stand-out features of the S7 is its ‘Always On’ display, meaning a select number of pixels remain illuminated - showing the time, date and notifications - even when the phone is asleep.

Another improvement can be seen in the S7’s battery. Not only is the 3,000 mAh battery bigger than that of the S6, the S7 is also equipped with clever technology that helps to preserve the phone’s charge - which is handy if you’re the type of person who tends to use their smartphone for long periods of time.

Superb low-light performance, speedy autofocus and a wider lens for stunning landscape shots: the Samsung Galaxy S7's 12-megapixel camera is among the best on the market. It's the first smartphone to feature a dual-pixel sensor, the same technology used in DSLR cameras, helping you capture super-sharp shots with a minimum of fuss.

New features

Samsung Galaxy S7 features

The Samsung Galaxy S7 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, giving you access to exciting new features like Google Now on Tap, which lets you search without leaving the app you're in. The all-new Game launcher makes recording videos and customising your in-game experience even easier.

What size SIM fits the Samsung Galaxy S7?

This phone requires a Nano SIM. Of the three SIM sizes available, this is the smallest. Most of the SIMs we provide are combination-SIMs, which arrive as a large SIM, but are perforated and can be snapped down to the necessary size.

When was the Samsung Galaxy S7 release date?

The Galaxy S7 was released in March 2016, as the successor to the previous Galaxy S6. The 7 series was expanded further recently thanks to the big-screen debut of the Samsung Galaxy Note7.

Can I use the Galaxy S7 with the Samsung Gear VR?

Yes you can. The Galaxy S7 is one of the best handsets available for enjoying Samsung’s virtual reality experience. Just slip the handset into the Gear, and enjoy seamless HD images on the Super AMOLED display, offering a fully immersive experience.

Is this phone available SIM-free?

Yes, this handset is available to buy SIM-free if you’d prefer to purchase it outright. Just click the ‘SIM-free’ tab on the product page, or view all our SIM-free handsets here.

Are there other variants of the Galaxy S7 available?

Samsung’s flagship device comes in a choice of two options. There’s the standard S7, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which boasts an extra layer of functionality, in the form of a curved extra screen. This offers convenient updates, notifications and special features to keep you organised.

Samsung's latest flagship excels in every area – from its gaming performance and crisp display to its fantastic camera and genuinely useful features, it's got every base covered. If you're looking for the best Android phone on the market, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is undoubtedly among the strongest contenders for the title.

Very happy with the Samsung S7 which I consider to be the most advanced and reliable mobile phone yet produced. Highlights for me are the camera which works very well under low light conditions and and the battery which can be fully charged in about 90 minutes.

The only problem with the phone I have found is the battery. The more e-mails that come thro the worse it gets.I get so many unwanted e-mails every day which I never got with my previous phone which was giffgaff and network coverage is not as good as the giffgaff network.
