Vodafone have been around a long time – in fact, the UK’s first ever mobile phone call was made on its network in 1985. As a company with a long history and with more than 400 million subscribers around the world, they know a few things about how to keep their customers happy – from great coverage to perks and special offers.
If you’re looking at getting a new Vodafone handset and you’re wondering what kinds of benefits and rewards you can get, here are some of the best:
Vodafone has made great improvements to its 4G coverage since it launched its own network in 2013, and it currently covers around 95% of the UK population, with further improvements in the pipeline thanks to an ongoing £2 billion upgrade. They’ve also won an award for being the best UK network for voice, and their Open Sure Signal programme helps extend 3G coverage to customers living in remote areas.
Customers in London, Birmingham and Manchester can also benefit from the LTE-Advanced network, which is around three times faster than standard 4G – perfect if you’re always streaming videos or uploading lots of photos.
There are some great Vodafone deals for people who love movies, music and festivals. With a pay monthly Red Entertainment plan, customers can enjoy 24 months of access to TV channels like Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, MTV and Gold with the NOW TV Entertainment Pass, which includes more than 250 box sets – you’ll never be stuck for a new show to get into.
Alternatively, if you’re on the plan you can choose 24 months of Spotify Premium, meaning ad-free access to Spotify’s enormous library of songs, or 24 months of Sky Sports Mobile TV Pack 1 – which includes Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports News.
Seen a new handset you like and don’t want to wait? If you’re on a Red Bundle with Vodafone, you can upgrade your phone up to 60 days early before your contract ends, and up to 30 days if not.
Vodafone has loads of options for pay-as-you-go customers. With top-ups starting from £10 on both SIM-only deals and new handsets, you can also get great rewards for topping up. From extra data to Amazon vouchers and Bluetooth speakers, your top-ups earn you points that can be exchanged for cool stuff.
Vodafone Wallet and Pay
Vodafone also offers its customers a secure contactless payment method called Vodafone Pay (only available on Android). Just like with Apple or Android Pay, you can use this service to load digital versions of payment and loyalty cards onto your device and make payments through the contactless SIM in your smartphone.
My Vodafone app
If you like knowing how much data and how many minutes you have left, or checking how much you’re spending each month, the My Vodafone app is for you. PAYG customers can use it to top up, and you can use it to log into Eurotraveller while on holiday. The handy app will even alert you when you’re due for an upgrade!
