"So, I was looking for a powerful, large touchscreen, sleek looking phone that I could use for gaming, mp3 player, organisation and, of course, calls. After reading many reviews, I came across the Desire as roughly fitting the profile I was after. I'm more of a list person, so I'll go ahead and list pros and cons (Subjective things)... PROS: Slim -Large, bright, clear screen, colourful (On max brightness it's incredibly rich and intense in colour) -Very responsive touchscreen -Nice to hold (Soft, almost silky, back texture) -Great camera -Reasonable video recording (now with 720p) -Very customisable -Great volume -Very responsive GPS (With CoPilot live it's better than my friends dedicated TomTom satnav) -Lots of great apps -Incredibly low cost compared other devices on the same level -Very fast and smooth, almost never slows down. CONS: Screen is quite reflective so it doesn't work well in direct sunlight -Fingerprints show up easily -Android experience could be more consistent (Isn't bad, just needs some refining to be perfect) -Depending on how you use it, battery life can be short -Need to remove cover/battery to change SD (Not an issue for me, just something to be aware of) -On low brightness, whites can appear to have a pinkish tint. SUMMARY: GPS, software, customisation, screen responsiveness, brightness, clarity, what it feels like in the hand, and a few other things are all a lot better than I expected. Screen reflectiveness, susceptibility to fingerprints, occasionally battery life, and a few other things are a little worse (not as strong negatives as the strength of the positives) than expected. Overall I'm extremely pleased with it, would happily recommend it, especially at the price offered (The deal breaker over competition). "

"I recently purchased the new Samsung Tocco and was initially dubious it would not live up to all the hype. I shouldn't have worried - it is a fantastic little touch phone that really does give the iPhone a run for its money (money being the operative word!). For a lot less cash you get an awful lot of phone. I previously had a Nokia N95 and did not think any thing would beat the 5mp camera, yet the Tocco certainly produces clear and crisp photographs even in poor light! A fantastic adaptable touch phone that I would recommend to any one thinking of purchasing!"

"Fantastic phone. Has lots of cool features like 'Find Music' where it records a 10 second clip of a bit of music and tells you what song it is. The touch screen is really good and using the on screen qwerty keyboard isn't too bad even if you've got big fingers. The only downside to the phone is when your scrolling through a large list getting it to stop at the right time takes a bit of practice. Other than that its a great phone! "

" Sensational phone, packed with features, genuinely brilliant graphics, my first 'touch' keyboard (with its pen facility) and won't go back to traditional. Music superb, (useful 3.5mm jack too for listening, which many expensive phones don't have), camera and Bluetooth do the job fine; and has BBC i-player, video calling, Wi-Fi, and very decent internet inc Java and email, as well as Skype access. Can't see why people would want to pay double for iPhone except for kudos. I bought the clearance version (£50 cheaper); I was lucky and got all the leads etc, then picked up an 8gb card for £12 after shopping around. No guarantee others will get the leads of course. One tip - run battery very close to zero for first three or four charges and fully recharge to ensure you get very best out of it - makes a big difference."

"I owned an HTC Hero for 6 months and was thrilled with it. I felt an equal to my iPhone toting peers, despite the slightly sluggish performance and the love-or-hate 'chin' (I loved it, personally). But when I saw the Desire and read the specs.... I had to have it! I am so pleased to have this phone! It looks, feels and performs brilliantly. I now laugh at anyone who owns an iPhone and justifiably so! The screen is big, crystal clear and so responsive and the more powerful processor means it runs smoothly without the stutters which affected the Hero. I was already used to the Sense UI but if you haven't had the chance to experience it you simply must have a go. It makes everything so easy and the customizable home screens mean you can have all the information you need at your fingertips, as well as interchangeable profiles to suit your immediate needs i.e. work, social etc. Also, I don't know if the camera is different to the Hero as it's still a 5MP but the quality definitely seems better and the flash makes a difference, even if it is only LED (but anything better like a xenon flash would compromise the flawless form). I'd say this is the best phone on the market at the moment, at least until HTC unveil their next masterpiece. The iPhone doesn't come close and only really beats the Desire (and thusly any other Android powered phone) due to the apps marketplace. Err I've rambled too much, thanks for reading!"

"I love the new Tocco. It's slim and light and the screen is a good size. The camera is good. However, when you lock the phone a random 'Wallpaper' is displayed. However, only 7 (out of 10) of these are available to choose from. The rest are hidden in the phone (the best one's can't be selected - rang the helpline & they confirmed????) The guide book provided is limited and doesn't go into detail. Therefore you don't know how the majority of the functions work - (Ok keep the basic guide book simple, but provide indepth guidance separately - via booklet or internet). The leather screen guard seemed like a good idea in practice, but you feel stupid using the phone with the thing flapping about around the mouth piece. However, I've only ever had Samsung phones and I intend things to stay that way."

The touchscreen is hands down the best I've ever used and because of the awesome processor the phone reacts instantly when you flick between the home screens and in the menu. Been using it almost constantly since I got it and still keep finding neat little touches like the voice to text feature which I just installed which lets you read out what you want to say in a text message and the phone types it in for you using voice recognition. "Having previously owned a Nokia 6300 I knew it was a quality handset. Not the latest technology admittedly but it does what I need it to reliably and with no issues. To be honest though my main reason for going with mobiles.co.uk was price. I'm more of a texter than a talker so went for an 02 24 month, 100 mins anytime, any network and unlimited texts package for only £15 a month! Haven't found a better deal anywhere else and I did plenty of research. Throw in £80 auto cashback and the free handset and I'm left wondering how anyone makes much of a profit. The handset arrived when it was supposed to and I've got nothing but praise for the whole service. Definitely gets my recommendation."

"Ok, where do I start? Pre -ordered and had to wait nearly a month for it to arrive, but oh baby...it was worth the wait. The handset itself is very slick and tidy, screen brings out crispness and colours very nicely. The HTC sense UI is extremely user friendly and there isn't a noticeable moment where Android 2.1 stops and sense starts. As with the Legend it follows the same 7 desktop design, which you are free to configure and add or remove any widgets to as you see fit. The camera is surprisingly good for a 5 MP and multi touch zoom option help to exploit this when viewing them back. Browsing the net is a dream as the CPU power shows it's worth here, loading URL's quickly (including flash, for all you iPhone users out there, lol.) You just have to remember to turn off your Wi-Fi when not in use as it tends to eat the battery as most of you probably already know. Loads of free USEFUL apps available from the market to personalise your phone, including advanced task killer, as the phone can perform multi-tasking (sorry iPhone users). You can use this app to close any apps that are running in the background to once again increase the battery life. So you have probably guessed, the only down side is the battery life, which as with most power hungry smart phones, only last around 2 days once the battery has been charged and drained about 10 times. But this is a small CON and the PRO's eclipse this in a heartbeat. I hate the status of iPhone killer as I'm bored of hearing it to be honest, but that said I do feel this is a better phone for me,as I'm a geek and love gadgets - Damn you Mr Bond! Yes the iPhone is good at what it does but it is a little to simple, where as the Desire will release more little gems that you didn't know were possible on it as you use it more. All in all, even with the O.K battery life, this is the best phone I have owned. The only thing I don't like about it is that when the HTC EVO comes out I will feel guilty if I have to upgrade away from it. "I was one of the fortunate ones who got this phone first (about a month ago) and so I feel I am able to give a good opinion of the phone. I have used the iPhone 3GS and this is definitely a better phone AND at a much cheaper price. Navigation on the Desire is much easier than on the iPhone as it is possible to use the jump feature and with a pinch of the fingers get to one of seven home screens each of which can be personalised. Like the other little HTC Sense touches such as the live weather widget which shows the weather upon unlocking the phone for about a second including raindrops falling on the screen and clouds drifting past. Also as this runs on Google Android there are many cool Google apps not yet available on non Android phones such as Google Goggles (take a picture using the camera and search for the item using Google) and Google Navigation (widely regarded as one of the best sat navs around) all for free. This does not even go into the hardware of the HTC Desire which includes a very fast processor (almost twice as fast as iPhone and other similar phones) and a camera which is 5 megapixels and has a flash (unlike the iPhone!). All in all this has to be the best phone on the present time market which explains it's massive popularity and unless the competition hurry up Apple, Nokia etc are going to end up slowly dying! "

"I was an iPhone owner and lover since its very first release back in 2007. I was never really an Apple fan in the beginning maybe I was scared of something completely different than that of a PC which I had used most of my life, it was only when I started using the iPhone did I realised that Apple was a great a company that takes pride in its products and so now a few years on I now own several Apple products. After years of using the iPhone I started to become bored, mainly with the lack of being able to customise it and so I took the plunge and moved to the HTC Desire, after reading review after review on the internet I decided out of all the HTC's available that this would be the right one for me and wasn't really wanting a Windows based phone due to all the bad reviews I had read. Well, I received my Desire on Monday way before its actual release with the networks and upon switching it on I was nervous, because it was so different to the iPhone. The look and feel of the handset is perfect and sleek, in fact it's very elegant and definitely an improvement on the iPhones plastic back which gets scratched very easily. On start up the phone goes through a very user friendly set-up for you to link your Google, Facebook, Twitter accounts and then once completed starts up. The first thing when I actually use the phone was I thought Ooo very nice, it took me about an hour or so to get used to the layout and how to get to certain menus but once I had figured it out it all made sense which is why I guess HTC call it HTC Sense! I have not ran into any issues, lags or crashes as of yet, however what I have found is that there is a lack of support online, because the phone is so new I guess people haven't really started writing about (i.e. forums etc) and in fact HTCs actual support website doesn't seem to list the handset as of yet however I have emailed them to find out when this goes live. Although moving away from the iPhone was a scary thought I now believe it was the correct one, HTC are in the running when it comes to touch screen technology and although their slogan is 'Quietly Brilliant' I do feel they should shout from the roof top about their brand new, top of the range product as I certainly will. Well done HTC! If you too are thinking about moving to this phone, I would highly recommend it."

"I was one of the lucky ones to receive the Desire on Saturday 27th March and there are not enough words to describe how much I love this phone. I nearly bought something else a couple of weeks ago and am so glad I didn't. The Desire is everything that the reviews say and more. It does a lot more. The phone is very fast, has an excellent touch interface, very similar to my iPod touch which Apple have perfected so well. HTC have done a good job on this phone and it is fantastic just to look at and hold. The pictures on the websites do not do it justice. There are lots of applications and the 7 custom screens work very well. Not only can you customise the widgets but you can put a programme shortcut on the screen as well, just like a PC. Some of the reviews mention about battery life but if you buy a smartphone, any smartphone, the battery life is not going to be as good. Who cares if you have to charge it a bit more often if you have all these features to hand. Also when you first get a phone you do spend a lot of time playing with it!! I have all of the power turn ons/offs for Wi-Fi, internet GPS and Bluetooth on 1 of the custom screens so I can turn them on when I need them, saving battery power. Thought I would just mention it has full Bluetooth so you can transfer pictures music etc. I know some phones are only Bluetooth on headsets so it's worth a mention. Make sure you read the full manual which is on the memory card in the phone. It has HTC sync on there too but doesn't work with a mac. No great problem as when you plug it into a mac just select the option on the phone as 'mount as disc' and you get access to the memory card without having to take it out of the phone. I got mine all set up as I need it and am so so glad I waited and bought the Desire. Everything about the Desire is just perfect. Can't wait to start downloading some apps and doing a bit more customising. If you have got this phone on your list then put it to the top and buy it. I did and it was the best phone decision I have ever made. "

"After owning the iPhone and then iPhone 3GS both on o2 PAYG, I wanted a new phone and also to change to a network I could actually get signal on all the time as I live in a rural area. I chose the HTC Desire on Orange via Mobiles.co.uk as it seemed the best non iPhone out there, plus the 15 month 1/2 rental was a nice bonus. Phone arrived next day (which was a Saturday as I chose Royal Mail delivery). The phone is very quick and easy to use, the text prediction isn't quite as good as my previous iPhones and the fact you can only rotate the screen 1 way are my only gripes about the Desire. The screen is poor in direct light even when turned up full, but all phones are like this. Where it does excel is the sense UI which is fantastic and the Android marketplace, mainly due to proper multi-tasking so no more having to browse back to the listings unlike the app store! like other users I suggest downloading an app killer, I now have battery lasting nearly 2 days for light use, or a day and a half with medium to heavy use, just kill off background apps every so often to extend the battery. "

"As a previous owner of the K800i, which I loved, I wanted something a little slimmer in the pocket. The W580i has the same screen size as the K800i but is much slimmer. The interface works well and the walkman buttons work really well if you want to use this as an MP3 player. I was particularly impressed with the headphones that came with the phone, they are isolating types with good sound quality. Also the connector accepts a normal headphone jack so you can connect a different pair if you desire. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the W580i."

"The Samsung Tocco Lite is such a stylish phone with loads of really cool features. One of the coolest features is the camera which has loads of great things you can do on it including smile shots, panorama views, continuous shots, mosaic and loads of really funny frames! The only slight thing is that it hasn't got a flash so you can't take a picture without turning the lights on full but its great when you are in full day light outside. Another really cool thing about it is the photo contacts screen where you can flick through all your contacts but in their photos and then easily access their numbers to text or call them. One of the features is the web browsing, it's flawless, it's got Flash lite which gives the web surfing that real feel about it. "I ordered this phone at about quarter to 5 on Friday and was with me by Saturday morning - that is what I call great service! Since buying this my mum and dad have both brought phones from this site which shall be arriving tomorrow. I would definitely recommend this site, it has great sales and quick delivery. I ordered the BlackBerry Curve 8520 in black and I love it already! The first day of using it took a bit of getting used to but today I've almost figured everything out. The internet is really quick and BBM is great, the only downside to this phone is the battery life isn't the best but apart from that it's a great phone, I haven't put it down yet! I would definitely recommend the site and the phone!"

"Samsung Tocco is fab! I picked it up and easily understood all its operations straight away, only needing to look up the more detailed aspects of the phone. The touch screen works beautifully and takes no time at all to master. The fact that you can lock the screen to prevent accidental calls makes it even better. Camera is fantastic, some great features, and the cover provided with it does a great job of protecting the screen, while in your bag or pocket. Its great!"

"I absolutely agree with every review on here! I ordered my phone at 4:55pm on Thurs and received it by lunchtime on the Friday-talk about a fast service! The phone itself is an absolute dream-lightening fast, responsive easy to use and is a really good size too. All my colleagues and friends have iPhones and I was just waiting for something a bit different so as to not be just another one with an iPhone and now I have this phone they are so jealous! The amount of free apps grows by the day so whilst they are paying for theirs mine are all free! The phone is smaller in comparison too despite having a larger screen and the camera is better as well. A great phone which looks like it will create a huge dent in the iPhone market judging by my friends reactions!"

"Got my phone after 1 working day. Having been a Sony fan for a while, this phone lived up to it's expectations. Would recommend the phone to others, easy menus and simple to use. Also has great features and a 5MP camera! The only downside is that the keys are slightly stiffer to use than those on the W810i and the phone is wider than the 810i but not really a big issue. The service from Mobiles.co.uk was excellent, as usual."
