Following on from the well-received P20 range, the latest addition in the P series has finally arrived. The Huawei P30 offers a stunning design and triple-lens camera system, amongst a host of other impressive capabilities.
We take a look at some of its most notable features.
Huawei P30 Design
The Huawei P30 sports a stylish and premium design that's less than 8mm thick. It's lightweight at only 165g, boasts an impressive 6.1-inch screen and features sturdy Corning Gorilla glass on both the front and back of the phone - offering protection against bumps and scratches.
You'll find the power button and volume buttons located along the side of the device, a fingerprint sensor built directly into the screen and both a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack (which was absent from the P20) on board. What's more, this smartphone has an IP53 water and dust resistance rating, helping to shield it from the elements.
The eye-catching colour selection for the P30 has been a real talking point too, and alongside a timeless black option you'll have a choice between Aurora Blue and Breathing Crystal. Both showcase an attractive, reflective gradient design which changes colour as the light shifts.
Huawei P30 Camera
One of the Huawei P30's most exciting features is its triple-lens camera system. Partnering once again with photography experts Leica, the P30 is home to some truly special camera tech, offering a system that's made up of a 40MP Super Sensing camera, a 16MP ultra-wide angle lens and an 8MP telephoto lens.
Amazing specs like this mean amazing photos, and you can expect your results to be packed full of detail, and bursting with vibrant colour. The wide-angle lens, in particular, is sure to come in useful for any landscape shots or large group pictures.
You can even take photos in the dark on this triple-lens camera. Rewriting the definition of low-light photography, Huawei's SuperSpectrum sensor brings more light to your images. At the launch event in Paris, Huawei demonstrated this revolutionary new tech by plunging the room into darkness before taking a photo with outstanding results. With the ability to let more light into every shot, snapping friends in a dark bar or capturing special moments during a candlelit dinner will no longer be a problem. You can even record videos in low-light.
The P30's front-facing camera is just as ground-breaking. There's a 32MP lens, ready for seriously defined selfies and crystal-clear video calling. Intelligent algorithms bring out your best features, brightening, contouring and naturally enhancing every selfie.
Huawei P30 Display
The Full HD+ display covers the entire front of the phone, stretching from edge-to-edge and measuring 6.1 inches. This OLED screen has a cinematic 19:5:9 aspect ratio, and the tiny dewdrop notch is barely detectable at the top of the device, housing the front-facing camera and helping to deliver a seriously immersive viewing experience.
With 16 million colours packed into the P30 display, images appear vibrant and true-to-life, while the ambient lighting sensor will automatically adjust brightness levels for more comfortable use. As mentioned, there's an in-screen fingerprint scanner that can register your print and securely unlock the P30 in less than half a second.
Huawei P30 Power
Fuelled by a Kirin 980 octa-core processor, a speedy, energy-efficient performance is guaranteed. Expect to use multiple apps seamlessly without any signs of lagging and don't worry about running out of power - the huge 3,650 mAh battery has you covered. You can expect up to 28 hours of use with just one charge.
The P30's advanced core is supported by 6GB RAM, 128GB of internal memory and offers Huawei's custom operating system based on Android Pie: EMUI 9.1. There's even support for Google AR Core to help you make the most of the latest augmented reality tech in the form of AR Measure, which lets you measure any object in real life by pointing the handset's camera at it.
