Introducing The New Galaxy S20 Range
For 2020, Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S20 range. Made up of four fantastic handsets - each with large Infinity-O displays and next-level cameras - this is Samsung's most advanced series yet.
It's time to explore the differences, and help find the perfect Galaxy S20 device for you.
Samsung Galaxy S20
At a glance: 6.2-inch Infinity-O display, triple-lens 64MP+12MP+12MP rear camera, 10MP front camera,4,000 mAh battery, 151.7 x 69.1 x 7.9mm, 163g.
Measuring 6.2 inches, the Quad HD+ Infinity-O display on the Samsung Galaxy S20 has been designed to provide a truly immersive experience. Whatever you love doing, be it gaming, streaming or video calling, this edge-to-edge display's incredible colour accuracy and defined picture won't disappoint.
The Samsung Galaxy S20's screen is one of the smallest in the range, but it still comes in above the 6-inch mark. It's ideal for large-screen fans who don't fancy a tablet-sized handset, and it also happens to be the cheapest phone in the series. Despite its lower price point, it's still jam-packed with some of the best specs to ever be found on a Samsung phone.
For a start, there's a huge 4,000 mAh battery that's capable of fast charging (both wired and wirelessly) and transferring power to any Qi-compatible device via PowerShare. You'll also find a strong core, made up of an octa-core CPU, Exynos 990 chipset and 8GB RAM.
The triple-lens rear camera offers a 64MP telephoto lens, 12MP wide-angle lens and 12MP Ultra Wide lens, alongside loads of camera features. Bright Night, for example, is an advanced night mode and enables you to take beautiful photos in the darkest conditions by snapping 3 images at once before using AI to combine them into one defined picture. Videos, meanwhile, can be shot in an outstanding 8K - the best quality yet for a Samsung phone.
Samsung Galaxy S20 5G
At a glance: 6.2-inch Infinity-O display, triple-lens 64MP+12MP+12MP rear camera, 10MP front camera,4,000 mAh battery, 151.7 x 69.1 x 7.9mm, 163g.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 5G is priced slightly higher than the Samsung Galaxy S20, and that's because it's a 5G-ready handset. With the S20 5G, you'll be able to take advantage of lightning-fast download speeds, reduced latency and a more reliable mobile network whenever you're in a 5G area. To support this feature, Samsung has added slightly more RAM to this model; you'll get 12GB on the S20 5G model as opposed to the already sizable 8GB found on the S20.
Aside from the increase in RAM and the ability to connect to next-gen 5G, the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G shares the same specs as the Samsung Galaxy S20. If you loved the sound of the S20, but you're keen to get your hands on a 5G phone, the S20 5G could be the perfect option for you. You'll find the same long-lasting 4,000 mAh battery with fast charging and PowerShare, a 6.2-inch display using Samsung's Infinity-O technology for a truly edge-to-edge viewing experience, a built-in UltraSonic Fingerprint scanner and a reliable and efficient core.
When it comes to cameras, it also shares the same 10MP front-facing camera and 64MP + 12MP + 12MP rear camera. Clarity comes naturally when shooting or recording with the S20 5G, even when you're taking images from afar. With 30x digital zoom and 3x optical zoom, you can really zone in on the smallest details in your photos without losing out on quality.
You can film 8K and 4K videos, alongside Full HD videos with Samsung's Super Steady mode. Found the perfect frame in your 8K video? You'll be able to retrieve 33MP stills from it using Video Snap, which you can use as thumbnails for YouTube, or to share your favourite moments on social.
Samsung Galaxy S20+

That's not all that's changed on the Samsung Galaxy S20+. An upgraded camera means you'll find an additional DepthVision lens, alongside a 64MP telephoto lens, 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP Ultra Wide lens. This additional DepthVision lens will give you more control over the amount of background blur in photos, and it also enables features such as Quick Measure. Calculating the depth in the world around you, you can open up the camera and measure real-life dimensions of objects in seconds. The front-facing camera brings 10MP quality, and you can use Live Focus for professional, bokeh-style selfies or play around with the fun-filled AR Emoji.
The Samsung Galaxy S20+ is also ready and waiting to connect to a 5G network, and whenever you connect to 5G on the device you can expect nothing less than high-speed downloads and non-existent lagging. To support the demands of 5G, you'll benefit from an octa-core processor, 12GB RAM and a 4,500 mAh battery.

The final handset in the S20 range also happens to be the largest. Expect uninterrupted viewing, amazing colour and seamless gaming when you switch on the 120Hz refresh rate setting.
Many of the S20 Ultra's features have been upgraded to make this the most premium device in the range, with the most noticeable undeniably being the on-board camera system. On the front, you'll find a huge 40MP camera, while the rear has an outstanding quad-lens setup consisting of a 108MP wide-angle lens, 48MP telephoto lens, 12MP Ultra Wide Lens and a DepthVision lens. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has been created with a 5,000 mAh battery - so you can bet that it'll last all day long. You won't even run out of power if you're using Samsung's PowerShare feature, which'll let you tranfser your charge to a friend simply by placing the S20 Ultra and any Qi-compatible device back-to-back. The S20 Ultra is also a 5G-ready device. With a 5G modem built in, it'll automatically connect to a 5G network whenever possible.
