The Best Foldable Phones 2025
Flip and foldable devices provide a smartphone experience that’s incredibly unique, echoing the transformable phone of yesteryear. We’ve detailed the most exciting flip handsets, but it’s time to change focus and highlight the best foldable phones you can buy, taking a look at their design, visuals, performance, and more.
Alongside the phones below, there are many more options to choose from in our foldable phone range.
Best overall foldable phone
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7
Reasons to buy
• Much thinner than the Z Fold6
• Also lighter than the Z Fold6
• 8” unfolded screen is superb
Things to consider
• The camera cutout on the unfolded screen might be distracting
• No S Pen support
The first thing you notice when you pick up the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 isn't the screen or the camera; it's the feel. For years, one of the biggest hurdles for foldables has been their bulk, but Samsung has made a significant leap forward here. They've managed to shave 4mm off the thickness, and in practice, this makes a world of difference. It’s no longer just 'pocketable for a foldable'; it's genuinely pocket-friendly.

Opening it up reveals another significant upgrade. The screens are noticeably larger - the cover display is now a more practical 6.5” - and the inner display expands to a massive 8” tablet-like panel. Both are Dynamic AMOLED 2X and feature a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes navigation and media consumption feel exceptionally smooth and responsive.
On the back, you’re getting a triple-lens setup headlined by a huge 200MP main sensor. This is paired with a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. This combination delivers richly detailed and versatile shots that are a clear step up from previous generations.
For the power users and gamers this phone is aimed at, the internals have seen a solid boost. The Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 8 Elite CPU, combined with 12GB of RAM, ensures the device feels snappy and responsive. Whether juggling multiple apps or running demanding games, the Fold7 has handled everything we've thrown at it with ease.
Best battery life option
HONOR Magic V3
Reasons to buy
• Larger battery than the Google and Samsung options
• Lightning-fast 66W wired and 50W wireless charging
Things to consider
• Can quickly heat up when gaming

The HONOR Magic V3 impresses for a multitude of reasons – beautiful displays being one of them – but it’s in the battery department that we strongly recommend the Magic V3.
At 5150mAh, the battery on this phone is significantly larger than those on the Galaxy Z Fold7 or Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. When gaming, you can expect to get ~ 9 hrs 30 mins of battery life, and a massive 15 hours if you’re just browsing. If you like to jump between games, videos and searching the Web, the Magic V3 can easily last more than 6 hours before needing a recharge.
Speaking of recharging, the Magic V3 is lightyears ahead of the competition. 66W wired charging is supported, as well as 50W wireless charging for when you’re on the go.
Best for AI features & multitasking
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
Reasons to buy
• The Pixel suite of AI features are consistently handy
• Multiple years of software updates planned
Things to consider
• Performance is great, but not superb
Google’s expertise in the AI market with Gemini is most evident on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. If you want to pick up a foldable phone for multitasking and experimenting with AI to enhance your productivity, the 9 Pro Fold is the way to go.

One of our favourite features that utilises Gemini is Pixel Screenshots. When you take a photo or save a screenshot, Gemini will create a summary of everything within the image, such as the address of a restaurant that’s featured or items on a receipt. It’s fantastic for recalling information without having to resort to memory.
Gemini’s ability to learn and adapt also means it can become more useful over time. Planning lists and writing emails is exceptionally easy, and only becomes easier as Gemini grows to understand your routine.
Given the wealth of AI features at your disposal, combined with how useful its features are, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the ideal foldable handset for experimenting with artificial intelligence.
Best budget foldable phone
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE
Reasons to buy
• More budget-friendly than the premium alternatives
• Basically a better Z Flip6
Things to consider
• Not a significant upgrade over its predecessor
Although a flip phone by design, we want to call out the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE because of its excellent value in a pricey area of the industry. It largely borrows from the Z Flip6 but with performance improvements and Android 16 pre-installed; a fantastic proposition for those wanting to dive into the foldable phone market.

Despite possessing a larger bezel around the cover screen, the Flip7 FE still offers a fantastic viewing experience. Both the 6.7” and 3.4” displays are Super AMOLED, enabling them to output visuals with true-to-life colours; dark areas are realistically dark, rather than looking washed out. A 120Hz refresh rate is the cherry on top, ensuring that everything feels smooth and responsive.
The Z Flip7 FE was one of the first smartphones – flip or otherwise – to launch with Android 16. Many of this version’s features feel particularly suited to the flip form factor, particularly Live Updates which provides real-time notifications. It’s extremely handy to be able to check on your taxi’s journey from the cover screen without needing to open the phone up.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly way into the foldable phone space, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE should be near the top of your list.
