Design
There’s only one place to start with the Galaxy S25 Edge: its ultra-slim design. The difference is clear to see when putting it side-by-side with handsets like the S25 Ultra, which look significantly thicker by comparison. The S25 Edge is even thinner than the impressive Z Fold6; a handset that we lauded for its slim build.
The key benefit of being such a thin device is how comfortable the S25 Edge is to hold. It rests beautifully in the hand without feeling cumbersome or unwieldy, and it also fits into any pocket with ease. If portability is an important consideration when buying a new phone, the S25 Edge is by far and away the most impressive device we’ve reviewed in some time.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is incredibly lightweight, too. Quite remarkably, it weighs 55g less than the flagship S25 Ultra and 27g less than the S25+, easily cementing the S25 Edge as one of the lightest phones on the market. This combination of minimal weight and thin profile will be music to the ears of frequent travellers or those that desire an easily storable handset.

Despite all of this, no compromises have been made to the S25 Edge’s durability credentials. The titanium frame easily shrugs off most scratches, as does the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 coating on the front screen. The S25 Edge also comes with an IP68 rating, granting it superb protection against dust particles and submersion in water.
Display
In the display department, the S25 Edge is broadly similar to the sibling S25+ in terms of core technology. You’re getting a 6.7” AMOLED screen with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate; a fantastic combo that dazzles when playing games or immersing yourself in a film. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the preferred choice if you want a larger screen, but the S25 Edge packs a punch at a more budget-friendly price range.
Brightness and sharpness are the two big standouts on the S25 Edge’s display. The screen here is actually brighter than the S25 Ultra - coming in at 1,997 nits – which is extremely impressive and provides a superb level of clarity. Being an AMOLED panel, too, this display can output more vivid colours compared to traditional IPS screens.
Performance
Something we love about the S25 Edge is how it doesn’t compromise on performance in the pursuit of a thinner design. Powering the S25 Edge is the Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU; the same processor found in the S25 Ultra and S25 Plus. This handset performs incredibly well when multitasking, playing games or swapping between apps, and it’s clear the S25 Edge benefits greatly from the 12GB RAM under the hood.

Due to its significantly reduced thickness, the S25 Edge also comes packed with a reworked cooling system to accommodate the thinner profile. This helps to keep the S25 Edge cool when performing demanding tasks such as gaming.
Software
If you’ve used an Android phone previously, the S25 Edge’s user interface will be very familiar. One UI 7 is layered on top of Android 15 and comes with several software updates including Now Brief and Now Bar, which provide previews of apps so you can easily access them from the main menu.
Artificial intelligence is built into the S25 Edge from the ground up, courtesy of Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite. We found features like Generative Edit and Sketch to Image to be especially useful, taking out some of the legwork when editing photos or planning a project. There’s also Circle to Search for quickly looking up a subject without needing to think of a query to begin your search.

It's safe to say that the S25 Edge comes with a lot of software features to experiment with, but you can enjoy it for even longer thanks to seven years of planned Android updates.
Cameras
The camera department is where the biggest differences between the S25 Edge and its sibling handsets start to emerge. Where phones like the S25+ and S25 Ultra feature a triple-camera array, the S25 Edge sports a dual array that includes a 12MP ultra-wide camera and 200MP wide lens. This does represent a reduction in versatility; however, the cameras on offer here are still capable of producing outstanding photos packed with detail.
Video recording also impressed us, with support for 8K 30 FPS and 4K 60 FPS footage. The contrast levels in these videos are further boosted by HDR, making scenes look far more lifelike without washing out the colours. LOG files are supported should you wish to edit your videos down to the finest detail.

Battery
Battery life on the S25 Edge does pale in comparison to other phones in the S25 series, largely due to how thin this handset is; there simply isn’t the room to include a large battery unit. Despite this compromise, you can still get ~12 hours out of the S25 Edge’s 3,900mAh battery before needing to recharge it.
Charging speeds on the S25 Edge are capped at 25W, enabling it to reach 50% in just under 30 minutes. Again, these aren’t exceptional charging speeds, but there’s enough juice there to get you through your commute without any problems.
Verdict
Not every area of the S25 Edge escapes being impacted by its size reduction, but there’s still an immense amount to love here. This is a beautifully designed phone that holds its own against other devices and is easily one of the most pocket-friendly handsets ever produced.
