Samsung Galaxy S21 Series
2021s Latest Samsung Galaxy Phones
The successor to Samsung's popular S20 range, and the flagship series for 2021, the Samsung Galaxy S21 trio are all great choices of new Galaxy phone. The Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra** are all 5G-ready as standard, and run on the fastest 5nm Exynos 2100 system-on-chip.
All three devices are IP68 water and dust resistant, and feature a stylish contoured-cut metal frame with Samsung's smudge-resistant frosted haze finish. There's an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner built into each screen, and despite having slightly different onboard batteries (with the S21 Ultra having the biggest 5,000 mAh cell), all three can be powered by 25W Super Fast Charging or 15W Fast Wireless Charging. You can use PowerShare with all three phones too, just pop another compatible smartphone or a Samsung Watch on the back of your S21 to transfer power from one device to another.
You can expect a cinematic viewing experience with the entire latest Samsung phone series, although there are a few slight differences. Both the S21 and S21+ have Full HD+ displays with dynamic AMOLED tech, with the S21 measuring 6.2 inches and the S21+ coming in at 6.7 inches. The premium S21 Ultra meanwhile measures 6.8 inches, has a wide Quad HD+ resolution and delivers an outstanding picture with dynamic AMOLED 2x technology.
Every handset is capable of achieving a 120Hz refresh rate too, which is perfect for intense activities like online gaming. In fact, the S21 range will intelligently adapt the display's refresh rates accordingly, depending on the activity you're doing, so you don't need to worry about changing things manually.
The biggest difference throughout the range boils down to cameras. All three S21 phones can record in amazing 8K, and you can edit 8K footage (which is four times better than 4K) directly on each device too. Super Steady Mode is available across the trio to help stabilise shakiness, and photography features such as Single Take and Night Mode are available on all the handsets too. The S21 Ultra, however, has the best rear and front camera setup, with the triple-lens rear camera equipped with a 108MP wide camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, a unique dual 10MP telephoto camera and an advanced Laser AF sensor. There's a 40MP selfie camera too, while the other two handsets come with an impressive 10MP front camera and a triple-lens 12MP+12MP+64MP rear.
If you're a fan on Samsung's S Pen, you'll also be pleased to hear the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the first S Series handset to support it - although the accessory is sold separately.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE
Slightly more affordable than the three flagship S20 devices, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is a brilliant option if you're keen to get your hands on the latest Samsung tech for a lower price point. Available as either a 4G or 5G device, the tech specs remain the same, regardless of which option you choose.
You'll find an impressive 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display, with an Infinity-O screen that stretches across the device with minimal bezels. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, this handset can take its fair share of wear and tear. It even has an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, and a durable plastic frame to protect it against those everyday accidents.
With an enhanced NPU, Snapdragon 865 chipset and 8GB RAM – it’s more than capable of dealing with advanced graphics and online gameplay. The phone even has the option to switch to a 120Hz refresh rate, which will not only deliver smoother on-screen transitions in general, but can improve response rates when playing against opponents.
It features a triple-lens 12MP+12MP+8MP rear camera, which is packed with photography features like Night Mode, QuickTake and Single Take. The rear camera also comes with 30x Space Zoom and 3x Optical Zoom, so you can shoot from anywhere, at any time of day, with stunning results.
Samsung Galaxy Note20 Series
New for 2020, the Samsung Galaxy Note20 series is the next instalment in Samsung's popular Note range. Three handsets are available in this line-up: the premium Samsung Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra, aas well as the Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Samsung Galaxy Note20 5G.
The most affordable of the trio is the Samsung Galaxy Note20, which shares the exact same specs as the Note20 5G, but doesn’t offer next generation 5G connectivity. The Note20 Ultra, meanwhile, features an all-glass design and offers a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display with a super-fast 120Ghz refresh rate. It's perfect for gamers, or anyone after a cinematic viewing experience directly from their smartphone, and with its 4,500 mAh battery, you can be confident it'll take you from morning to night with one full charge. The Note20 Ultra also has a rear triple-lens camera system, with an incredible 108MP main lens, 12MP telephoto lens, 12MP ultra-wide lens and an added Laser AF lens.
Whether you choose the Note20 and Note20 5G as your new Galaxy phone, or you go for the Note20 Ultra, you'll find an in-screen ultrasonic fingerprint scanner on all three phones for secure access. As for power, each handset has 12GB RAM, an octa-core CPU, the latest Exynos 990 chipset and both Android 10 and Samsung's own UI 2.5 inside. You'll also be able to record in cutting-edge 8K on all three handsets, take 33MP stills from any 8K video using Video Snap and edit settings like ISO, shutter speed and more with Samsung's own Pro Video Mode.
All three devices feature wireless charging, with 25W fast charge which will take you to 100% in just over an hour, or you can share your power with another compatible device (like another Note20 phone, or Samsung Galaxy Buds) with the innovative PowerShare.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Series
The Samsung Galaxy S20 range is Samsung's flagship series for 2020. It launched during Samsung's Galaxy UNPACKED 2020 event, and consists of four of the latest Samsung phones.
The most affordable handset in the range is the Samsung Galaxy S20, followed by the almost identical Samsung Galaxy S20 5G. The only difference between the two handsets is the added 5G connectivity. The Samsung Galaxy S20+ and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra are all 5G-ready handsets, benefitting from lightning-fast downloads, improved reliability and reduced latency.
Throughout the Galaxy S20 series, you'll find large Infinity-O displays with built-in Ultrasonic Fingerprint scanners, large battery capacities that support Samsung's PowerShare feature (where you can transfer your power to charge up another phone by placing compatible devices back-to-back), high-spec CPUs and Exynos chipsets and camera systems that support impressive 8K video. VideoSnap has to be one of the standout features in the S20 series, and it'll enable you to lift a 33MP still from any 8K recording.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 and Samsung Galaxy S20 5G have the smallest screens in the range, but they still sit at a sizeable 6.2 inches. The Galaxy S20+ is even larger at 6.5 inches, while the premium Galaxy S20 Ultra measures 6.9 inches - a fantastic choice for gamers and frequent streamers looking for a more tablet-sized smartphone.
Cameras are a big deal in the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, with Samsung stating that the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra will be "the phone that will change photography". The Galaxy S20 Ultra has the most advanced camera system in the S20 line up, with a huge 108MP wide-angle lens, 48MP telephoto lens, 12MP Ultra Wide lens with a 123-degree field of view and a DepthVision lens that enables AI-features like 3D Scanner and Quick Measure. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is a smartphone with a difference, as it can fold completely in half.
Samsung has introduced its Infinity Flex display technology to the world with the Galaxy Z Flip. When the handset is unfolded, its screen measures an impressive 6.7 inches. Like many of Samsung's other Galaxy phones, the display stretches from edge-to-edge, with no bezels or interruptions in sight.
Thanks to the added Hideaway Hinge, you'll be able to prop up the Galaxy Z Flip at various angles, and the device will intelligently adapt. For example, if you fold the phone so it's propped up at 90 degrees, the interface of the phone will change and enable you to use the bottom and top half independently. Whether you want to watch YouTube as you reply to an email, video call a friend while keeping your texts open or scroll through Instagram and respond to comments on Facebook at the same time, it's all possible with the Galaxy Z Flip.
There's a small 1.1-inch screen near the rear camera as well, which will display a range of notifications, Caller IDs, the time, date, battery percentage and more, so you can see what's happening even when the phone is folded. Speaking of cameras, there's a 10MP front-facing selfie camera and a dual 12MP + 12MP rear camera. In typical Samsung fashion, you can expect crystal clear videos, refined photos and a plethora of added photography features with this Galaxy phone.
As for tech specs, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip runs on the latest Android 10 operating system, it uses an octa-core processor and stays powered up for longer with the 3,300 mAh battery that also has PowerShare technology.
Samsung Galaxy A Series
New technology doesn't have to be expensive, and Samsung's A series has been created to offer some of the very best smartphone specs at a budget-friendly price. Two of the latest Samsung phone additions are the Samsung Galaxy A51 and the Samsung Galaxy A71.
Whether you choose the Samsung Galaxy A51 or Galaxy A71, you'll be able to benefit from a vivid, Super AMOLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution and an on-screen fingerprint scanner for faster, safer access. The Galaxy A51 is the smaller handset weighing 172g and offering a 6.5-inch display, while the Galaxy A71 weighs slightly more at 179g and features a 6.7-inch screen.
On the Galaxy A51 and the Galaxy A71 you'll find an octa-core CPU, Android 10 and Samsung's customised One UI 2.0 interface, plus a 32MP selfie camera and two slightly different quad-lens cameras. The Galaxy A51 has a 48MP + 12MP + 5MP + 5MP rear camera installed, while the A71 has an even bigger 64MP + 12MP + 5MP + 5MP camera system waiting for budding smartphone photographers to experiment with. The first 5MP lens is defined as a macro lens, meaning you'll be well equipped for those close-ups, while the second 5MP lens is all about depth and a must for creating that stylish bokeh effect.
