When can I upgrade my phone?

A mobile phone upgrade may sound complicated but in truth it's really straight forward. When upgrading, you’ll always continue with your existing network, and your number will carry forward automatically.

Vodafone users can upgrade 75 days early. You can also upgrade before this time, but this would incur an early upgrade fee roughly equivalent to your remaining line rental. You can use our Upgrade Checker to see when you will be eligible to proceed with upgrading your phone. Plus, it doesn't matter if you've not bought from us before, anyone can upgrade with us.

Which phones can I choose to upgrade to?

You can choose any upgrade phone available on our site, there are no restrictions. Just because it’s called an ‘upgrade’ doesn’t mean you’re obliged to select a more advanced phone - you can also go for a more low-cost option if you prefer, or even upgrade onto a SIM-only deal.

All you need to do is choose your new phone and supply us with your current mobile phone number once prompted in the basket. This will then be automatically transferred to your new contract, so you don’t have to worry about manually porting your number.

How do I upgrade my phone?

As long as your handset is eligible for an upgrade, it’s a relatively easy process. Just add an upgrade deal to your basket, and follow prompts to add your existing number and other information.

When can I upgrade my phone?

You’ll be eligible to upgrade once you reach the end of your contract. However, EE users may upgrade 45 days before the end of their contact, and Vodafone users can upgrade 75 days early.

Can I upgrade my phone before my contract ends?

Yes, but you’ll have to pay off the remainder of your contract first. This is equivalent to the line rental left to pay. The less time you have left on your contract, the cheaper this will be.

I don't know when my contract started, how can I find out?

You can discover your upgrade eligibility date by contacting your network to ask, or logging into your network account. Alternatively you can call our sales team who will let you know.

Can I upgrade from one network to another?

No, an upgrade means you continue your agreement on your current network, on a new contract. If you want to move network, you’ll need to order a new deal.

What do I do with my old phone when I upgrade it?

This is entirely up to you. You can keep it, sell it, give it away, recycle it, or hold onto it as a spare. Alternatively, you can upgrade onto a SIM-only deal and continue to use it.

Will I keep my contacts and pictures when I upgrade?

Yes, all the information saved to your device won’t go anywhere once your contact ends. To transfer content to your new device, you’ll need to refer to the user manual for your phone.

I didn't buy my last phone contract from Can I still upgrade?

Yes, it doesn’t matter which retailer you used for your last contract. Just select an upgrade deal on your current network, and let us know your current mobile number when prompted.
